Tailored Dinner Jacket

This is the most difficult--and fun-- sewing project I have done in many years. Tailored Silk and Wool dinner jacket for Jonathan.

I modified a Vogue commercial pattern, and perfected the fit with a muslin. It is a full-canvas jacket with hair canvas, shoulder pads, wool felt chest pads and wool felt undercollar.

The jacket is Victorian Gold Silk Shantung from Mood, the contrasting black is a Silk/Wool twill, and it is lined in Silk.

Lots of time and handsewing in this one. Lots of fun making it.

Jon always helps me with all my craft projects, and makes me things, so it was fun to make something special for him.

He got to wear it on our recent trip on the Star of the Seas.
